At the heart of our story is the style journey of our Canadian-born founder, Duane Lewis, and the joy of expressing individuality through fashion. Growing up on the island of Barbados, Duane was immersed in a vibrant culture that celebrates self-expression. At an early age, he found himself drawn to different Caribbean, North American and European styles from various fashion influences. His unique style would quickly gain him status as a trendsetter in his teenage years and beyond. When Duane moved back to Canada as a young adult his sense of style evolved to intertwine the practicality of classic Canadian clothing options with his more bold and playful Caribbean fashion sense. With local streetwear options lacking a modern twist, Duane was inspired to create a classic brand for individuals, like him, that are not afraid to punctuate moments in their individual journey with eye-catching fashions – Jane Austins.
